Abstract

Lung transplant candidates increasingly have concomitant cardiac disease. Prior studies have demonstrated the safety of lung transplant with concurrent cardiac surgery in small case series. Here, we describe a case of ascending aorta replacement at the same time as bilateral lung transplant utilizing a clamshell incision. The patient recovered well. With this case report, we aim to contribute to the growing literature showing the safety of concomitant heart and aortic surgery during lung transplant.
