Arylation of aldehydes with indoles utilizing IiPrim·HBF4 as a recyclable catalyst for synthesis of bis(indolyl) methanes in water

Bis(indolyl)methanes have attracted much more attention bearing good biological activities. Green organic catalytic synthesis has promoted the development of green chemistry, especially in the aqueous phase reaction system. In this work, we have developed a green and efficient catalytic arylation of aldehydes with indoles utilizing low-cost 1, 3-diisopropylimidazoline boron tetrafluoride (IiPrim·HBF4) as a recyclable and reused catalyst for the synthesis of bis(indolyl)methanes (BIMs) in water.
