Artificial Intelligence: A Disrupting Event by Capitalism and Technology

ABSTRACT

Modern people are grappling with the impact of integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into their lives. This article proposes that any meaningful conceptualization of AI requires an operational analysis of the capitalist ideology in which it is embedded. The article reviews the influence of capitalism and technology on human subjectivity and how it is deployed to shape and constrain human experience. It concludes with the position that competent praxis necessitates a critical analysis of the ideologies AI exists within and suggestions for Humanistic practitioners moving forward.
