ARMORED UNITS OF THE SEPARATE PRIMORSKY ARMY IN THE LIBERATION OF THE SOUTHEASTERN AND SOUTHERN CRIMEA IN APRIL 1944

The quantitative and qualitative composition of armored units of the Separate Primorsky Army on the eve and during the first stage of the Crimean offensive operation in April 1944 is disclosed, and the main combat operations of these units are described. The events of the liberation of settlements in Southeastern Crimea, which were not previously reflected in the historiography of the war, are described in particular detail; problems are identified and tasks are set for further studies of the actions of Soviet troops on the Southern coast of Crimea. For the first time in historiography, detailed information is given about tankers who died during the fighting and the places of their primary burial. Using archival documents, narrative sources and analyzing the available research, the study reconstructed and presented a number of previously unknown moments in the history of the liberation of Crimea, clarified some circumstances of known events.
