Applications and Reflections on AI in the Field of Education
Minghui Ye, Nidhi Agarwal, Sarika Malhotra, Rahul Singhal, Deepti VermaAbstract
The cognitive artificial intelligence (AI) radically transforms the educational ecosystem through data-driven thinking and algorithmic optimization, which focuses on precision, personalization and collaboration of the educational process, leading to significant changes in metacognitive development, human-machine cognitive synergy and ethical considerations. This technology overcomes the barriers of traditional standardized teaching by dynamically adapting learning paths through cognitive diagnosis, intelligent content adaptation and personalized goal setting. Regarding the development of metacognitive abilities, AI visualized abstract thinking processes and identified self-directed learning capabilities as skills that can be taught and learnt through strategic training and dynamic modification, ultimately redefining them as talents. Nonetheless, the use of technology raises ethical issues, including educational equity, algorithmic bias, data privacy and diminished cognitive autonomy, as overreliance on AI and instant feedback may hinder students’ ability to think independently. This means that a future development should strike a balance between technological advancement and humanism, base technological orientation in human concern and find synergy between tool empowerment and human leadership to build up education to a more fair and equitable evolution.
