Application of High-Quality Nursing Intervention in Perioperative Care of Patients Undergoing Thyroid Surgery

Na Li, Yu Zhang

Objective: To investigate the clinical value of high-quality nursing intervention in perioperative management of patients undergoing thyroid surgery. Method: A total of 80 patients who underwent thyroid surgery at The Hong Kong University - Shenzhen Hospital from January 2022 to July 2023 were enrolled and randomly divided into a control group and an intervention group (n=40 each) using a random number table method. The control group received routine perioperative nursing, while the intervention group was given additional high-quality nursing interventions. Anxiety and depression levels, complication rates, and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups before and after intervention. Results: Before nursing, there were no significant differences in Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) and Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) scores between the two groups (P>0. 05). After nursing, SAS and SDS scores in the intervention group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0. 05). The overall complication rate was significantly lower in the intervention group than in the control group (P<0. 05). Nursing satisfaction was significantly higher in the intervention group than in the control group (P<0. 05). Conclusion: High-quality nursing intervention effectively alleviates negative emotions, reduces perioperative complications, and improves nursing satisfaction in patients undergoing thyroid surgery.
