Application of Artificial Intelligence in the Field of Testing and Inspection

Yongpeng Liu, Zhengju Yang

With the rapid development of digital economy and intelligent manufacturing, artificial intelligence (AI) has gradually become a core driving force for the transformation and upgrading of the testing and inspection industry. Traditional testing methods are characterized by low efficiency, strong subjectivity, high missed detection rate and high labor cost, which can no longer adapt to the high-speed, high-precision and high-stability requirements of modern industry, medical treatment, food safety and infrastructure construction. This paper systematically combs the core technical system of artificial intelligence applied in the field of testing and inspection, including computer vision, machine learning, deep learning, multi-sensor data fusion and edge computing. On this basis, the typical application scenarios of AI in industrial quality inspection, medical laboratory diagnosis, food safety detection, infrastructure health monitoring and special equipment safety inspection are summarized and analyzed. Furthermore, this paper discusses the outstanding advantages of AI technology in improving detection efficiency, enhancing detection accuracy, reducing human dependence and realizing predictive maintenance. At the same time, the practical challenges faced by AI in the field of testing and inspection are deeply analyzed, such as the lack of high-quality labeled data, the poor interpretability of deep learning models, the incompleteness of industry standards and the shortage of compound talents. Finally, combined with the development trend of science and technology and industry demand, the development direction of AI in the field of testing and inspection is prospected, including full-flow intelligent unmanned detection, special large model for testing and inspection, multi-modal fusion perception and digital twin-driven intelligent detection system. It is expected to provide theoretical reference and practical guidance for the intelligent upgrading and innovative application of the global testing and inspection industry.
