Anterior Abdominal Wall Fibrous Hamartoma of Infancy in a Previous Premature Low-Birth Weight Female Infant

ABSTRACT
Hamartomas are tumor-like lesions composed of tissue elements normally found at the site where they are located, but which grow in a disorganized manner. It generally occurs at birth or soon after but its exact mechanisms of development remain unknown. Although trauma and prematurity have been reported occasionally with the hamartomatous lesion. This article is to highlight a rare benign case of fibrous hamartoma of infancy located in the anterior abdominal wall in an eight-month female with a previous history of prematurity and low-birth weight.
