Anomalously wide phase transitions and current-induced instability of the superconducting state of disordered metallic alloys

S. V. Yartsev, A. F. Prekul, N. V. Volkenshtein

The results of an experimental study of the current-induced instability of the superconducting state {discovered by Yartsev and Prekul, Fiz. Nizk. Temp. 12, 249 (1986) [Sov J. Low Temp. Phys. 12, 140 (1986)]} in disordered crystalline and amorphous alloys of transition metals are described. The relationship between this phenomenon and a known anomaly—wide superconducting phase transitions—is discussed.
