A RuS2@CaTiO3-x photocatalyst was developed by anchoring RuS2 onto a multi-shelled hollow cube of CaTiO3. Ultrahigh hydrogen evolution was successfully achieved through water splitting with the assistance of a photocatalytic biorefinery.
