To support the prevention of this global food security threat, the president has mandated the Indonesian National Police (Polri) to provide support for the national food security program. This research aims to identify internal and external factors that influence the effectiveness of the Polri’s role in implementing food security programs in Central Java and evaluate public satisfaction, the quality of Polri services in supporting food security, perceived value, expectations, and public trust regarding the Polri’s role in supporting food security. This research applied a mixed method, analyzed using data triangulation techniques and analytical descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that the driving factors for the implementation of the food security program that has been played by the Polri are influenced by their role and involvement in supporting the program, as a companion, motivator, and facilitator in the implementation of the food security program, resulting in positive psychological and social impacts for farmers. The Polri’s role also needs to be optimized through coordination and communication with various elements of society, to support the sustainability of the national food security program. The sustainability of this food security program cannot only rely on the role of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) but also needs to pay attention to several other supporting factors, such as the availability of quality seeds, the provision of appropriate fertilizers, adequate agricultural land area, and appropriate agricultural machinery technology, must be aspects of attention. Based on the implementation of the Polri’s role in supporting food security in the field, it was found that public satisfaction was assessed by public perception of service quality, public perception of the value of benefits, the level of public expectations, and the level of public trust in the implementation of the food security program by the Indonesian National Police. It can be concluded that overall, the five variables showed positive response results. The recommendation that can be given from the results of this study is that the existence of public trust in the role of the Polri can strengthen the legitimacy of the Polri, which needs to be supported by effective communication to support the food security program.
