An Unusual Case of Sudden Cardiac Death due to Right Coronary Artery Anomaly During the Valsalva Manoeuvre: A Case Report and Literature Review

Coronary artery anomalies (CAAs) represent one of the most complex pathologies in cardiology. Right coronary artery anomaly (RCA) is extremely rare. Often this condition is asymptomatic and diagnosed accidentally; however, in some cases it can have a catastrophic onset and cause sudden death.
Case Report
We present here a rare case of sudden cardiac death (SCD) of a 27-year-old man due to a RCA with origin from the left coronary sinus and abnormal course, exacerbated by the Valsalva manoeuvre during defaecation.
Conclusion
We emphasise the need for a careful and comprehensive approach in cases of SCD. In these cases, a careful and thorough analysis of the origin and course of the coronary arteries is necessary.
