Indian economy is mainly dependent on the banking sector. This sector mostly cares for the growth of individuals, groups and organisations; the economy primarily depends on this. For a decade, this sector has been struggling with acts like misappropriation, fraud and nancial crime, which all have a bearing on the economy. In this study, I have focussed more on the genesis of fraud. Again, more effort is being made to identify the types of fraud and its nancial implication. The analysis of Corporate, Retail, Cyber and Government fraud in India is based on data from reliable sources like RBI Reports, National Crime Bureau and many more. Against this backdrop, a thorough analysis has been made of the sector-wise nancial losses by the banks and government.
