An electrified reformer at the centre of a methane reduction strategy
Akshat TanksaleAn electrified reformer at the centre of a methane reduction strategy
Professor Akshat Tanksale guides us through an electrified reformer as part of a strategy to reduce methane emissions. Reducing methane emissions from human activities is one of the fastest methods to slow short-term climate change. Methane has a global warming potential 28 times that of CO2 over 100 years. According to the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) estimates, methane emissions have driven about 30% of the rise in global temperatures since the Industrial Revolution, and because methane lasts in the atmosphere for roughly 12 years rather than centuries, cutting emissions can deliver relatively rapid climate benefits.
