ALWAYS ON, ALWAYS UNDER PRESSURE: A BIBLIOMETRIC REVIEW OF WORKPLACE TELEPRESSURE RESEARCH

Gülay Tınmaz Karaçay
This study presents the first known bibliometric analysis of research on workplace telepressure. The primary aim of this study is to reveal the social, intellectual, and thematic structure of the workplace telepressure literature. To this end, 52 articles published between 2015 and 2025, obtained from the Web of Science and Scopus databases, were analyzed using the “bibliometrix” package in R. The findings demonstrate that research on telepressure is rapidly growing, yet the literature is concentrated around a limited number of core studies. Furthermore, the field is predominantly shaped around themes of work-life boundaries, stress, and employee well-being. The results reveal that telepressure is largely perceived as a factor that creates additional workload for employees and hinders recovery processes. Therefore, this study provides a comprehensive overview of the telepressure literature, offering new research opportunities and insights to guide future research.
