AI-Guided Profiling of Fermented food Microbiota and Immunity
Nirmala A. PawarIndigenous fermented foods harbor a metabolically active and diverse microbial population. The present study was undertaken with the aid of artificial intelligence (AI) to understand the functional framework of the microbiome. For this purpose, metagenomic sequencing data, metabolic pathway reconstruction, and supervised machine learning algorithms were evaluated to characterize fermented food microbiota. The functional annotation of identified gene clusters linked to cholesterol assimilation, short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) biosynthesis, nitric oxide modulation, and antioxidant defense systems were investigated. Network-based systems analysis revealed strain-level heterogeneity influencing metabolic homeostasis and inflammatory balance. The integrated AI-microbiome profiling provides a nutrition-oriented approach for transforming traditional fermented foods into scientifically validated healthcare interventions.
