Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) has become a transformative facilitator for organizations in different industries, reshaping how organizations design processes, make decisions and aim for sustainable values. Though there have been intense examinations of AI and analysis tools and methodologies in past studies, there is a pressing need for a wide and competent understanding of the different dynamics of AI as a transformative tool in real-world contexts. To address this issue, this chapter develops a case study analysis of how AI is influencing education and businesses and develops definitions based on transformative analytics. In this chapter, real-life examples of how AI has or can transform big businesses, educational systems of a nation and college and university systems have been examined. In fact, examples of educational institutions illustrate how AI can impact teaching and governing as well as how it can be used at a systemic level for inclusion. In turn, examples of big businesses illustrate how AI can influence excellence in work processes and administration as well as innovation directed at environmental friendliness. This chapter does not only focus on AI adoption as an issue of technology adoption; it also emphasizes the transformative process as socio-technical in nature. This chapter conducts a cross-case analysis to identify common enablers, sector-specific obstacles and various patterns of transformations in both business and the education sector. These elements are further integrated to develop various sustainable AI-based pathways of transformation in relation to long-term institutional viability, ethical use of AI and social purpose.
