Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM) is a demyelinating autoimmune condition that mostly affects the central nervous system. We present a case of a woman who presented with paralysis and speech deficits following an episode of upper respiratory tract infection. Brain and spinal cord imaging were used to confirm the diagnosis.
