Adoption of Digital Dentistry in Restorative Practice in Saudi Arabia: A Step Toward Healthcare Digitalization

Background:
Digital dentistry is an integral part of modern restorative practice. However, limited data exist on their actual prevalence and pattern of use among dentists in Saudi Arabia. Digital transformation across healthcare is an important pillar of Saudi Vision 2030 and requires assessment on status of digital dentistry integration.
Objective:
The objective of this study is to assess the actual prevalence, usage patterns, barriers, and proposed strategies related to the integration of digital dentistry in restorative practice in Saudi Arabia.
Materials and Methods:
This cross-sectional study was conducted using a validated, self-administered questionnaire distributed electronically among 550 Saudi dentists across different specialties related to restorative practice. The questionnaire included four sections: demographics, prevalence and usage patterns, perceptions, barriers, and solutions to wider adoption of digital dentistry.
