Adaptation and Validation of the Korean PID-5-BF+M
Jiyoon Jang, Nayoung Yoon, Nahjung Kim, Hyun-nie AhnAbstract: Objective: This study validated the Korean version of the PID-5-BF+M (K-PID-5-BF+M), integrating DSM-5 and ICD-11 dimensional models. Method: Data were collected from 800 Korean adults ( M age = 44.79). Two independent confirmatory factor analyses were conducted on split subsamples ( n = 400 each), followed by measurement invariance testing across sex. Results: The six-domain loading pattern was observed across both samples and showed measurement invariance across sex, although overall fit did not reach conventional benchmarks and an intermediate facet-level model did not yield an admissible solution. Domain-level internal consistency was adequate (ω = .70–.84). Convergent validity was partially supported with five-factor model traits, and criterion-related validity was supported through associations with categorical PD symptoms and personality functioning. Limitations: The community-based sample and inadmissible facet-level solutions limit generalizability and support for facet-level interpretation. Conclusion: The K-PID-5-BF+M appears to provide adequate reliability and validity for domain-level screening of maladaptive personality traits in Korean adults, although some items and facets deviate from the original structure.
