Acyl Halide/Sulfoxide‐Promoted Synthesis of Highly Functionalized Benzothiazoles
Yu Luo, Man Jiang, Xue‐Lian Lan, Ying Li, Jian‐Wu Xie, Hai‐Lei CuiWe established a convenient synthesis of highly functionalized benzothiazole derivatives with thioamides in the presence of acyl halide and sulfoxide at ambient temperature. A series of α‐haloacetophenone‐incorporated benzothiazole derivatives could be constructed in 20%–99% yields through acyl halide/sulfoxide‐based C─X and C─S bond formation. In this process, both AcBr and AcCl can be able to serve as activator of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and halo source successfully.
