Neeraj Kumar, Sourabh Srimala

This article examines the predicament of acid violence sufferers in India, focusing on available remedies and rehabilitation measures. Acid attacks, a form of violence that primarily targets the skin, cause severe physical and psychological trauma. Victims face numerous challenges in obtaining medical treatment, legal justice, and societal reintegration. This paper explores the legislative framework, including the incorporation of Section 124 into the BNS and the implementation of recommendations from the Justice J.S. Verma Committee. It also indicates the need for specific legislation, compensation funds, and pension schemes for victims with severe injuries. The study aims to illuminate the current state of support for victims of acid violence and recommend improvements for their all-inclusive rehabilitation through a thorough study.
