A Study of Caste-Based Social and Economic Inequality in Chhattisgarh State
Firoj Kumar SonwaniThis paper explores caste-based social and economic inequalities in Chhattisgarh, focusing on disparities in education, employment, and income. Using data from the Census of India, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, and National Statistical Office, alongside recent academic research, the study reveals significant inequalities among Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), Other Backward Classes (OBCs), and General Categories. The findings highlight persistent disparities and evaluate the effectiveness of government policies aimed at addressing these issues.
