A STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF WOMEN'S REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH RISKS UNDER CLIMATE CHANGE
Poonam KumariABSTRACT Climate change has emerged as one of the most significant global public health challenges of the twenty-first century. Its impacts extend beyond environmental degradation and economic losses, affecting human health in profound ways. Women, particularly those of reproductive age, are among the most vulnerable populations due to biological, social, and economic factors. Climate-related phenomena such as rising temperatures, extreme weather events, water scarcity, food insecurity, and environmental pollution have been linked to adverse reproductive health outcomes, including maternal mortality, preterm birth, low birth weight, menstrual irregularities, infertility, and increased susceptibility to infectious diseases.The present paper statistically examines the relationship between climate change and women's reproductive health risks. Secondary data from published reports, international organizations, and health surveys were analyzed. Descriptive statistics and percentage analysis were employed to interpret trends and patterns. The findings indicate a significant association between climate-related stressors and adverse reproductive health outcomes. The study highlights the need for gender-sensitive climate policies, improved healthcare infrastructure, and targeted interventions to protect women's reproductive health in a changing climate.
