Early marriage implies the inability to offer considered consent even after the individual has crossed the age of 18 years. Adolescents experience rapid physical, cognitive, and psychosocial growth. Changes during the adolescent period affect how they feel, think, make decisions, and interact with the world. Our report narrates the life struggles of an adolescent girl in a rural setting, the factors influencing her decisions, and her resilience in the face of adversity. Miss Anamika (name changed), belonging to a low socioeconomic class was married nonconsensually under peer pressure in the hope of easing the financial burden on her family. She faced marital discord characterized by substance abuse and infidelity. Separated from her husband after six months, she now works in a local industry to support her family. Her resilience is evident in her refusal to return to her marital home and her pursuit of divorce. This case report of a young girl brings out different challenges that she faced after her parent’s death. This report emphasizes the importance of understanding socioeconomic determinants in healthcare and advocating for supportive interventions.
