A screw dislocation in an anisotropic elastic matrix containing an eccentrically coated isotropic elastic circular inhomogeneity

Ping Yang, Xu Wang, Peter Schiavone

We study the interaction problem in anti-plane shear associated with a screw dislocation in an anisotropic elastic matrix containing an isotropic elastic inhomogeneity with an eccentric isotropic elastic coating. An analytical solution to the problem is derived by means of the complex variable method. In particular, an explicit six-parameter expression of the image force acting on the screw dislocation is obtained. Elastic anisotropy of the matrix can influence and control the mobility and stability of the screw dislocation. The analytical solution for the case of uniform loading at infinity is also derived.
