A Reflection of Sadness and Mistrust for a System Built to Support

This chapter shares an experience of how a maternity system intended to support can also hinder job security and career development. With time, the challenges have been reframed to foster self-motivation to pursue new opportunities, continue educational growth, and advocate as an ally for mothers and parents in science.
