Abstract

Multinodular goiter (MNG) is a common endocrine disorder that may remain asymptomatic for years. However, long-standing disease can present with compressive symptoms due to progressive enlargement. A 62-year-old female with a 10-year history of anterior neck swelling associated with dysphagia and hoarseness of voice. Computed tomography demonstrated a large MNG causing tracheal and esophageal compression with vascular displacement. Fine-needle aspiration cytology suggested a benign lesion (Bethesda II). Total thyroidectomy was performed. This case highlights the importance of timely surgical intervention in preventing complications of long-standing goiter.
