A novel approach for carrot peel valorization: cascade fractionation into chlorogenic acid, carotenoids, pectin and lignin, and exploitation of chlorogenic acid peculiar reactivity from a green chemistry perspective

Carrot peels were valorized through a cascade approach as a source of chlorogenic acid, carotenoids, pectin, and lignin. The peculiar reactivity of the recovered chlorogenic acid was also exploited from a green chemistry perspective.
