O.V. Galimov, V.O. Khanov, D.M. Minigalin, D.O. Galimov, T.R. IbragimovObjective. To improve the results of treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease in obese patients, reduce the incidence of recurrent weight gain and postoperative morbidity. Material and methods. Original technique of bariatric surgery (RF patent) is described. Results. In patients with morbid obesity, sleeve gastrectomy creates a “complete loop” via mobilizing and passing the round ligament of the liver behind the esophagus. This achieves necessary and durable restriction preventing weight gain. Simultaneous creation of acute angle of His prevents gastroesophageal reflux disease. Conclusion. The prospects of this new method are seen in determining indications and selecting patients for surgery. Further evaluation of original sleeve gastrectomy with prevention of reflux esophagitis in patients with morbid obesity will determine its place among restrictive methods of weight loss.
