A new species of brilliant metallic Caenaugochlora Michener from Costa Rica, with a note on C . silvicola Eng

A new species of brilliant metallic blue Caenaugochlora Michener s. str. (Augochlorini) is described and figured from Heredia Province, Costa Rica. Caenaugochlora ( Caenaugochlora ) erinae sp. n. is superficially similar to C . ( Ctenaugochlora ) donnae Engel (Costa Rica), with which it was once confused, as well as C . ( Caenaugochlora ) wilmattae (Cockerell) and C . ( C .) amatitlana (Cockerell) (both Guatemala, Honduras), and C . ( C .) cyanella Engel (Honduras) but differs from the first in the usual subgeneric characters and from all three by its size, colour, and sculpturing. The species C . ( C .) silvicola Engel from Ecuador is removed to a new subgenus, Acritochlora subgen. n., as it is closer to Ctenaugochlora than Caenaugochlora s. str.
