ABSTRACT

A prototype of a microwave hyperthermia and temperature detection system for superficial tumors and precancerous lesions has been developed. A microstrip phased array working at 2.45 GHz is used in the proposed system to couple microwave energy into biological tissues effectively. Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO) is implemented to obtain the optimal excitations (amplitude and phase), aiming to achieve a desired specific absorption rate distribution. The primary goal is to obtain a high specific absorption rate level within the target region. Compared with the results of the traditional method, it is discovered that the corresponding results of the Grey Wolf Optimizer exhibit better performance in both simulation and test. The results convincingly prove that the devised system has a good focusing effect on the muscle phantom, offering promising potential for practical applications in the field of tumor treatment.
