A Luddite bemoans the death of bedside education

Proficiency in clinical skills is becoming a thing of the past. Educating physicians to do a competent physical exam can save time, get answers quickly and perhaps more safely, and may even improve the physician/patient relationship, as well as sometimes eliminating the need for expensive tests.
