A highly reversible zinc anode for alkaline zinc-iron flow batteries regulated by a xylose-containing electrolyte

An alkaline zinc-iron flow battery (AZIFB) with enhanced zinc anode reversibility and alleviated water migration is developed by adding xylose. The AZIFB delivers a stable cycle life (∼160 cycles) and preeminent power density (136.5 mW cm ⁻² ).
