Abstract

In this study, we present a strategy for synthesizing Imidazo[2,1‐b]thiazole and Imidazo[2,1‐b][1,3,4]thiadiazole in a single step with high efficiency. Glycerol is utilized as a sustainable solvent, offering both economic and non‐toxic properties to facilitate the selective formation of these compounds. The reaction entails a stepwise formation of C−N bonds. Key benefits of this approach include its environmentally conscious reaction conditions, simplicity in execution, cost‐effectiveness, short reaction times, high product yields, solvent reusability, and overall sustainability.
