A CRITICAL APPRAISAL OF THE ADMINISTRATION OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE ACT, 2015

The Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015 (“the ACJA 2015”): was signed into law on 14\" May 2015. The Act has receivéd both praises' and condemnation’ from different sections of the society.? The Act was-made to ensure efficiency, protection of the society from crime, and guarantees the rights of suspects, defendants, and victims of crimes.‘ This article examines the purpose and scope of the Act and to determine its prospects. The paper briefly highlights the salient provisions: of the Act, critiques some of its shortcomings and projects an agenda for:reform of thie laudable provisions of the Act.
