We present a model‐dependent polarimetric study of the galactic x‐ray transient source SWIFT J151857.0-572147 using IXPE observations. We fit two different models, averaged over the energy range of 2–8 keV, one with a polarization constant and a power law, and another accounting for a geometrically thin accretion disk and a thermally Comptonized continuum model for lower energies. The polarization degree (PD) is obtained to be 0.3% ± 0.2% for both the powerlaw and diskbb models. The best‐fit model yielded the inner disk temperature T in ≈ 0.90 ± 0.02 keV and photon index Γ ≈ 2.3 ± 0.4. We find that a combination of emission from the disc and the Comptonized component produces a good fit.
