A case report of neoadjuvant targeted immunotherapy in HCC
Haiqin Tan, Yuan Zhou, Hongyu Cai, Hongjian Chen, Yilong Zhou, Chunyang MaIntroduction and importance:
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has high incidence and mortality rates, and traditional treatment methods have limited efficacy. Neoadjuvant therapy can improve patients’ survival outcomes.
Case presentation:
We present a patient with HCC who underwent neoadjuvant treatment with a targeted immunotherapy combination and then received radical surgical resection. Postoperative pathology revealed a pathological complete response (pCR).
Clinical discussion:
The management approach for this case, which involved neoadjuvant therapy, aligns with the Chinese guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of HCC. The therapy should be strictly selected.
Conclusion:
Combined targeted therapy and immunotherapy may be effective in the comprehensive treatment of HCC, including neoadjuvant therapy. They can improve overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) and are worthy of clinical promotion.
