A Biography: Professor Özcan KARADENİZ ÇELEBİCAN

This biographical study examines the academic life, scholarly contributions, and intellectual legacy of Prof. Dr. Özcan Karadeniz Çelebican, one of the distinguished representatives of Roman law scholarship in Türkiye. Beginning with her legal education in Ankara and advanced academic studies in Germany and Italy, the study traces her scholarly development and contributions to Roman law, legal history, and comparative legal studies. It highlights her academic works, administrative roles, international scholarly collaborations, and her significant contributions to legal education. Particular attention is given to her role in fostering international academic exchange through participation in and organization of major Roman law congresses, as well as her pedagogical influence on generations of legal scholars. As a scholar deeply committed to legal methodology, historical legal analysis, and multilingual legal scholarship, Karadeniz Çelebican made lasting contributions to Turkish legal academia. This study aims to commemorate her academic legacy and underline her enduring impact on Roman law scholarship and comparative legal thought.
