Windows are important elements in the passenger cars that have a large impact on the light shading and heat insulation, affecting heating and lighting and interior space requirements in the cars. Flexible smart window plays an important role in human comfort and experience. In this review, we will discuss the next generation smart windows based on flexible dimming film and dye liquid crystal technology which can realized a step‐less dimming result through voltage switching, in such a way that comfortable lighting and temperatures in the car can be maintained.
