Abstract

Video presentation of acute gastric volvulus in one patient with previous history of a giant recurrent hiatal hernia, corrected with synthetic absorbable mesh one year prior to the event.

The video contains the first surgery, follow-up studies, the intra operative findings (mesh status) and resolution. It raises the question whether, in extremely large hiatal hernias, specially recurred ones, adjuvant techniques should be associated.
