250 Gbps security evaluation of 50G-PON communication in uplink and downlink with over 41-dB power budget utilizing mode-locked laser

Abstract

Uplink passive optical networks (PONs) using Mode-Locked Laser (MLL) provides an economical point-to-multipoint data transfer for fixed-point users and improve the power budget. Higher-capacity PON networks operating at 50 Gbps (50G-PON) is purposed to give greater information rate, long-distance fiber transmission. Facing the demand on high-bandwidth for robotic ensemble, sensors, laser cutting, and other application in smart factories and high protection networks, we propose the ElGamal algorithm based on 50G-PON which intends to improve network security efficiency and user experience in internet of things (IoT) and industrial environments. The study offers a innovative high speeds grayscale transmission photo over dual-directional fiber. Studies on simulation shows to indicate that a distance with ratio splitting of 1:160 can be completed successfully at 70 km, obtained a symmetric 250 Gbps network with data per user was raised to 1.5 Gbps. Both of downstream and upstream receiver sensitivity demonstrated is −33.7 dBm and −35.2 dBm, respectively. We successfully increase the power budget with the aid of the low cost MLL for upload to 41.3 dB for the upstream pathway and 47.4 dB for the downstream pathway. In addition to offering a practical solution to the issue of communication performance in the context of smart shops, this study serves as a crucial reference and guide for the security of 50G-PON.
