Abstract：With the accelerating aging of China’s population, the development of rural elderly care service models faces multiple challenges. The integration of age-friendly design and healthy elderly care services has become an important approach to addressing rural elderly care diffi culties. Tangchi Town in Lujiang County, Hefei City, Anhui Province, has ecological advantages and strong elderly care potential. The connection between age-friendly construction, health service supply, and design education practice in its nursing homes refl ects both the practical needs of local elderly care development and the social responsibility of design education. Taking Tangchi Town Nursing Home as the research object, this paper, guided by the theory of art and design, focuses on the integration of age-friendly design, healthy elderly care services, and design education practice. It systematically discusses the teaching model, curriculum setting, teaching methods, and evaluation mode of current design education in the age-friendly fi eld, as well as the existing problems. Based on the actual needs and renovation practice of Tangchi Town Nursing Home, the study proposes feasible reform plans and innovative pathways for design education, shares replicable and promotable teaching cases and experiences, and promotes the close integration of design education with rural elderly care services, thereby helping Tangchi Town Nursing Home achieve age-friendly, healthy, and humanized development while providing theoretical and practical references for nursing home design education in rural China.
