Abstract:The pervasive penetration of visual culture and the popularization of digital media have profoundly reconstructed the living context, creative forms and communication paths of folk crafts, promoting their transformation from the traditional daily-folk custom system to the contemporary visual-symbol-experience system. Traditional folk crafts are centered on practicality, regionality and folk ritual sense, emphasizing the deep integration of materials, skills and the life world. In the visual era dominated by image production, short-video communication and national trend consumption, the visual expressiveness, symbolic recognition and emotional experience value of folk crafts are unprecedentedly highlighted. Based on visual culture theory, combined with intangible cultural heritage inheritance and cultural and creative industry practice, this paper sorts out the evolution of contemporary folk crafts in three aspects: creative form, media communication and value function, and analyzes the characteristics of its aesthetic paradigm shift from functional aesthetics to visual aesthetics, from regional folk custom to national trend symbol, and from static appreciation to interactive experience. It also reflects on problems such as superficiality, homogenization and cultural weakening in the process of visualization, and explores the development path of upholding integrity and innovation for traditional crafts in the contemporary visual field. The study aims to provide theoretical reference for the living inheritance, contemporary transformation and aesthetic reconstruction of folk crafts.
