Abstract:Objective To observe the impact of acupoint patch therapy combined with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM)-based nursing on patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD). Methods A total of 86 AECOPD cases (all treated at our hospital between May 2024 and May 2025) were randomly divided into two groups in a 1:1 ratio: Group A (conventional care) and Group B (acupoint patch therapy + TCM-based nursing). Intervention effects were compared. Results ①Syndrome scores: At t1, intergroup scores decreased compared to t0; within groups, cough (t=5.552), sputum volume (t=5.443), sputum characteristics (t=3.425), and dyspnea (t=6.580) were higher in Group A than in Group B (P<0.05). ②Pulmonary function: At t1, intergroup scores increased compared to t0; within groups, FEV1/FVC (t=5.559), FEV1 (t=3.636), and FVC (t=4.795) were lower in Group A than in Group B (P<0.05). ③Quality of life: At t1, intergroup scores decreased compared to t0; CAT scores (t=2.280) were higher in Group A than in Group B (P<0.05). ④Patient acceptance: Acceptance rate (χ²=4.962) was 83.72% in Group A vs. 97.67% in Group B (P<0.05). Conclusion Acupoint patch therapy combined with TCM-based nursing significantly improves pulmonary function, reduces CAT scores, promotes clinical symptom relief, and achieves high patient acceptance, demonstrating strong promotion value for AECOPD management.
