Abstract:Against the backdrop of China’s rural revitalization strategy, technology empowerment has become a critical driver of agricultural and rural modernization. Guangxi, a typical Karst region and multi-ethnic area in Southwest China, faces unique geographical constraints and structural challenges in its agricultural development. Drawing on core academic literature and policy documents published between 2020 and 2026, this paper systematically reviews the theoretical foundations and current research on technologyempowered rural revitalization. It identifies four major bottlenecks affecting Guangxi’s agricultural technology adoption—geographical constraints, talent shortages, weak innovation capacity, and inadequate extension systems. Through a case study of the “lowaltitude economy + smart agriculture” model in Lingui District, Guilin, the paper proposes targeted countermeasures, including adaptive agricultural machinery for mountainous areas, UAVbased logistics solutions, precision smart farming, integration of agriculture with cultural tourism for value enhancement, and the establishment of longterm synergistic mechanisms. The study concludes that the key to overcoming technologyempowerment barriers in Karst regions lies in the coordinated interplay between contextsensitive technological adaptation and institutional innovation. Future research should place greater emphasis on quantitative empirical analysis and regionspecific investigations, so as to provide replicable pathways for rural revitalization in southwestern ethnic minority areas.
