Abstract:Chronic cardiovascular and metabolic diseases are prevalent non-communicable diseases and impose substantial clinicalburdens in China. Current clinical researches mainly focus on traditional risk factors such as genetics and lifestyle, while neglectingoccult injuries caused by long-term exposure to low-dose environmental chemical contaminants. Characterized by bioaccumulation, delayed onset and multi-target damage, these contaminants destroy vascular endothelial function, disrupt glucose and lipid metabo-lism, and trigger low-grade inflammation and oxidative stress, thereby promoting the progression of hypertension, atherosclerosis, type 2 diabetes and other chronic diseases. Existing studies predominantly concentrate on environmental toxicology and epidemio-logical investigation, lacking systematic summaries from the perspective of clinical internal medicine. This review summarizes theexposure characteristics and pathogenic mechanisms of environmental chemical contaminants, analyzes current research deficiencies, and explores their application value in etiological tracing, precise prevention and individualized treatment of chronic diseases, so asto provide theoretical references for the clinical prevention and management of adult cardiovascular and metabolic chronic diseases.
