Abstract：New quality productivity plays a pivotal role in advancing the transformation and modernization of traditional agriculture. Shantou, a significant agricultural region in eastern Guangdong, has established a solid foundation leveraging its unique agricultural resources. However, it grapples with challenges related to industrial transformation and upgrading. This study employs a methodology that integrates case analysis and field investigation to delineate the resource endowment, industrial landscape, and developmental milestones of agriculture in Shantou. It scrutinizes the deficiencies in applying scientific and technological innovations, ensuring a skilled workforce, and fostering profound industrial integration. Building upon this analysis, a development trajectory for agricultural modernization in Shantou is outlined from four perspectives: driven by technological innovation, fostering integrated industrial growth, promoting green and low-carbon transitions, and harnessing digital empowerment. Additionally, supportive measures encompassing policy backing and talent assurance are suggested. This investigation offers practical insights for Shantou to optimize its agricultural industrial framework, nurture novel growth drivers for agriculture, and propel high-quality agricultural advancement and holistic rural revitalization.
