Abstract :Objective To investigate the effect of a cluster nursing model applied by operating room circulating nurses on the surgical safety of elderly patients under general anesthesia, and to provide clinical evidence for reducing the incidence of adverse events and improving satisfaction among patients and surgeons. Methods A total of 400 elderly patients who underwent general anesthesia surgery in our hospital from January 2024 to December 2024 were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an experimental group using a random number table method, with 200 cases in each group. The control group received routine operating room nursing, while the experimental group was additionally given cluster nursing led by circulating nurses on the basis of routine care. The incidence of adverse events and satisfaction scores of patients and surgeons were compared between the two groups. Results The incidence of adverse events in the experimental group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05); the satisfaction scores of both patients and surgeons in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion The implementation of cluster nursing led by operating room circulating nurses can effectively reduce the incidence of perioperative adverse events in elderly patients under general anesthesia and significantly improve the satisfaction of patients and surgeons.
