多排螺旋 CT检查与磁共振成像在老年低位腰间盘突出诊断中价值比较(Comparison of the value of multi-slice spiral CT examination and magnetic resonance imaging in the diagnosis of low lumbar disc herni ation in elderly patients)

Abstract:Objective To compare the diagnostic value of multi-slice spiral CT and magnetic resonance imaging in low lumbar disc herniation in elderly patients.Methods A retrospective comparative analysis was conducted on the clinical and imaging data of 80 elderly patients with low lumbar disc herniation in our hospital from January 2024 to January 2026. All patients underwent multislice spiral CT and magnetic resonance imaging separately, with surgical results as the gold standard. Compare the conformity rate of two imaging examinations for different lesion locations, properties, and related signs.Results Among 80 elderly patients with low lumbar disc herniation, postoperative results showed that there were 31 cases of L3-L4, 24 cases of L4-L5, and 25 cases of L5-S1; Disease severity: Grade I-IV were 11 cases, 25 cases, 38 cases, and 6 cases, respectively; Imaging findings suggest that there were 33 cases of nerve root compression, 43 cases of dural sac compression, 71 cases of intervertebral disc calcification, and 67 cases of intervertebral disc degeneration. The diagnostic accuracy of MRI examination for different lesion sites and degrees in patients with this disease is significantly higher than that of CT examination (P<0.05); The diagnostic accuracy of CT examination for calcification of the ligaments around the intervertebral disc in patients with this disease is higher than that of MRI examination (P<0.05).Conclusion Both MRI and CT examinations have certain diagnostic value in elderly patients with low lumbar disc herniation. Among them, MRI has higher diagnostic accuracy and greater value in identifying the location and severity of the lesion.
